Why I’m not using Automator for Tiger 10.4
The reason I’m not using Automator yet is that I have a job and I can’t quit.
I know if I start using it, I’ll never want to stop, my work will suffer, and I’ll either have to quit or get fired. I can just see a large landscape of possibilities opening up in front of me, lots of little lines going out and splitting off, connecting with other lines and exploding into starbursts of other lines, all in three dimensions, all glowing golden yellow on a black background.
That is how my brain starts to work when I think about how Automator is going to work for me. I don’t dare put my toe in the water because my brain will push me in.
